A landmark decision was made last week to overturn the outdated law initially introduced in the 70’s by Franco. Allowing Non EU citizens to purchase freely any property that sits on urban land. The rustic undeveloped properties/land without the municipality’s plan parcial area still covered at the moment by the old law.
The Alicante association of estate agents, appealed directly to the government to intervene, outlining the damage to the industry and the knock on effect of tourism, especially in the Orihuela Costa.
